Standards for Success

Your World Classrooms tour offers many unique opportunities and experiences. Beyond the educational benefits, the tour is a chance to form new friendships and to practice personal responsibility and independence.

We want every traveler to have a safe, positive, and memorable trip. Reaching that goal depends on everyone in the group treating one another, and everyone they meet, with genuine respect. As a participant, it is your responsibility to help make the tour a good experience for yourself and for everyone traveling with your group. We expect honesty, courtesy, and consideration toward others, including the people in your group as well as airline staff, motor coach drivers, local guides, and hotel and restaurant staff.

What we expect from every participant

  • Follow the rules and directions of your group leaders and WC Tour Staff, both before and during the tour.
  • Treat everyone with respect. Bullying, harassment, sexual harassment, hazing, and discrimination of any kind are not allowed and may result in dismissal from the tour.
  • Do not use or carry smoking products, e-cigarettes or vaping devices, alcohol, marijuana, illegal drugs, or any controlled substance not prescribed to you. Weapons of any kind are not allowed.
  • Follow all rules and directions of airlines, hotels, motor coach companies, attractions, and other vendors.
  • Stay with your group at all times. When a group leader gives you free time, stay in a group of at least three people and return to the meeting point on time. A group leader has no duty to delay the tour to wait for anyone who is late.
  • Do not leave the hotel unless a group leader or WC Tour Staff has approved it and you are with your group and an authorized adult.
  • Stay in your own assigned hotel room. Do not enter another participant’s room unless a group leader has approved it.
  • Quiet hours are observed from 10:00 p.m. until 6:00 a.m. Be in your own assigned room by 10:30 p.m. and remain there until 6:30 a.m., unless WC Tour Staff directs otherwise for a program event. Sleep in your own assigned room every night.
  • Leave hotel facilities in the same condition in which you found them. You are responsible for any damage you cause.
  • Use technology and social media responsibly and respect the privacy and dignity of everyone in the group. Do not photograph, record, livestream, video chat, or otherwise capture images, audio, or video of another participant in a hotel room, bathroom, changing area, or any other location where privacy is reasonably expected. Do not share, post, transmit, forward, or ask for any image, video, or recording of another participant without that person’s permission. Any use of an electronic device that invades another participant’s privacy, is harmful, demeaning, exploitative, harassing, or threatening, or is otherwise considered inappropriate by World Classrooms staff is not allowed and may be against the law. Bullying or harassing anyone in the group, online or in person, is also prohibited. Violations may result in disciplinary action, including temporary confiscation of the device, removal from activities, dismissal from the tour at the traveler’s own expense, and, where required by law, a report to the appropriate authorities.
  • Use good common sense, respect, and consideration for others and their property every day.
  • Speak up. If anything or anyone makes you feel unsafe or uncomfortable at any point, tell a group leader, WC Tour Staff, or another trusted adult right away.

If the standards are not followed

If a participant violates any ofthese standards, the participant may be dismissed from the tour at the solediscretion of WC Tour Staff. In that case, the parent or guardian will becontacted, the student will be sent home at the parent’s expense, and no refundof any part of the trip price will be given. Unlawful conduct may also bereported to the appropriate authorities as required by law.

How families agree to these standards

These Standards for Success arepart of the World Classrooms Terms & Conditions. You do not need to sign orreturn a separate form. When a parent or legal guardian enrolls a student, thatenrollment serves as the family’s agreement to these standards.

By enrolling a student with World Classrooms, the parent or legal guardian confirms that:
  • they are a parent or legal guardian authorized to enroll the student and to agree to these standards on the student’s behalf;
  • they have read these Standards for Success and the World Classrooms Terms & Conditions;
  • they agree to review these Standards for Success with their student before travel; and
  • they agree, on their own behalf and on behalf of their student, that the student will follow these standards while on tour.

Students: by traveling with World Classrooms, you agree to follow these standards so that you and everyone in your group can have a safe and enjoyable trip.
